Kimber + Dawn
Hi Kimber and Dawn. I am new to vinyl cutting. I have a Brother Scan N cut! I am a quilter so that is why I purchased it. Can I use your files with the scan n cut? I am having trouble finding the answer to this question. I appreciate your help. Thanks
Hi Deanie! I’m so sorry, we don’t know. We haven’t worked with that machine before. If we find anything out we will let you know! Good luck!
There is an online feature on the Brother website called Scan N Cut canvas, you can create designs there as well as bring SVG files that you have downloaded to open and use. Hope this helps.
I signed up for these emails by mistake and can’t find where to opt out and end my registration. Can you please do this for me as I have no interest in your emails or crafts. I thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Hi Ron, I’m sorry I just checked and we don’t show you as subscribed via the blog list. If you accidentally subscribed to our emails, you can click the “unsubscribe” option at the bottom of the email to stop receiving them. 🙂
Hi guys! i love your blog and get some really cut ideas here. I have a Silhouette that i am crazy about. I aha a question about SVG files. I save clip art or pics all the time and usr the trace feature to get my cut file. Why would i want to use an SVG file instead? Whats the difference and should I be using them instead of tracing?
Hi Patty! Tracing is totally fine. The SVG just saves you those steps but you do need the Designer Edition of Silhouette Studio to use SVG files! 🙂
I am new to my Silhouette. I just joined to received your emails also. I tried to download some of the free files, but I’m not sure how to get them in my Silhouette Library. Can you help?
Hi Edith!
How Do I Get the Designs into My Silhouette Studio?
Unless you’re buying from the Silhouette Design Store, designs won’t automatically download to Silhouette Studio.
First, save the downloads to a folder on your desktop.
Then, open Silhouette Studio.
From within the software, Go to File>Open and select the design(s) you want to use.
Once you have them open you can go to File>Save>Save to Library to save them in Silhouette Studio.
You can also Bulk Import which will be way easier for this bundle. Follow this tutorial to bulk import designs into your Silhouette Studio Library. http://www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2016/10/bulk-importing-files-silhouette-studio-library.html
